Bible Study Series: Daniel 11:32, "Know And Be Strong"

BE STRONG IN THE LORD

"The people that do know their God shall be strong."

Daniel 11:32

THE BEGINNING OF KNOWLEDGE IS FEAR

We must search the scriptures to understands and to know that God is the highest and best form of knowledge.  Spiritual knowledge is a source of strength to the Christian.

Proverbs 1:7

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge,

but fools despise wisdom and discipline.

The  Covid 19 virus is a death angel. We must trust God and used the wisdom that

He has given us through science to protect ourselves and our families.

Consider the Jews the night before they left Egypt. They all had to eat

Unleavened bread and put the blood of the lamb on their doorpost so the death

Angel would pass by them.

Consider the COVID vaccine the blood of the lamb.

Proverbs 2:6-7

For the Lord gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.

He holds victory in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless,

KNOWLEDGE PRODUCES CONFIDENCE

Christ is the source of all our physical and mental power. Without Christ

We can do nothing.

Philippians 4:13

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

John 15:5

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

KNOWLEDGE STRENGTHENS CHRISTIAN FAITH

According to the Scriptures, the church (US) are persons who are enlightened and taught of the Lord.  We have an unction from the Holy One.  It is the Spirit's peculiar office to lead them into all truth, and all this for the increase and the fostering of their faith.1

John 14:26-27

But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

How will you know what Jesus said? You have to study the word for yourself.

Hebrews 11:1

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

NIV

    a. Faith is divinely given

    a. Faith is an active element.

    b. Faith is an ever-growing element.

    c.  Faith is a tested element

    d. Faith depends on God

KNOWLEDGE STRENGTHENS LOVE

1.        Knowledge strengthens love, as well as faith. Knowledge opens the door, and then through that door,

we see our Saviour. Or, to use another similitude, knowledge paints the portrait of Jesus, and when we see that portrait then we love Him, we cannot love a Christ whom we do not know, at least, to some degree. If we know but little of the excellences of Jesus, what He has done for us, and what He is doing now, we cannot love Him much; but the more we know Him, the more we shall love Him. 1

a.       Jesus gave us two great commands of love.

Matthew 22:37-40

Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'  38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'  40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

NIV

b.       Love is the reason for all actions.

c.       God is Love, therefore we should be the image of His love.

d.       Love is the key to our relationship with Jesus. Love is the driving force to

Continued fellowship with Jesus.

e.       Love is the essence of our compassion for brothers and sisters.

f.        Love brings healing.

g.       Love builds a sense of self-worth.

h.       Love produces a feeling of emotional completeness.

i.         Love gives security

j.         Love is tolerant of those who have wronged us.

k.       Love empowers us to serve joyfully.

KNOWLEDGE STRENGTHENS HOPE

Knowledge also strengthens hope. How can we hope for a thing if we do not know of its existence? Hope may be the telescope, but till we receive instruction, our ignorance stands in the front of the glass, and we can see nothing whatever; knowledge removes the interposing object, and when we look through the bright optic glass we discern the glory to be revealed and anticipate it joyous confidence. 1

a.       Hope believes anyway

b.       Hope to resist resentment

c.       Hope has friends

d.       Hope expects God to answer

e.       Hope does not stop believing

f.        Hope is louder than the crowd

g.       Hope hears God

KNOWLEDGE PROMOTES PATIENCE

Knowledge supplies us with reasons for patience. How shall we have patience unless we know something of the sympathy of Christ, and understand the good which is to come out of the correction which our heavenly Father sends us? 1

1.       Patience leads to prosperity

James 5:7

Be patient then brothers, until the Lord's coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield

its valuable crop and how patient he is for the autumn and spring rains.

2.       Patience helps us enjoy peace

Philippians 4:6-7

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

NIV

3.       Patience helps us endure trials and tribulations with joy

James 1:2-4

Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4 Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

NIV

4   Patience  leads to the power of God

Isaiah 40:31

Those who hope in the Lord

will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles;

they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

NIV

5         Patience Helps us to receive the promises of God.

Hebrews 6:12

We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.

         6.    PATIENCE PRODUCES PERFECTION

Grace has many aspects for the Christian which, under God will be fostered and bring

           perfection by holy knowledge.

           James 1:4

But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

7.  KNOWLEDGE OF THE WILL OF GOD PRODUCES PERFECTION

Hebrews 13:21

Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well-pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory forever and ever.

8         THE STUDY OF GOD’S WORD LEADS TO PERFECTION

2 Timothy 3:16

All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:  That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

KJV

We must grow not only in grace but also in the

"knowledge" of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
