This Week's Sunday School Lesson, "The Beginning Of Humanity", Genesis 2:15-25, (/30/2018

THE BEGINNING OF HUMANITY

Genesis 2:15-25

RESPONSIBILITY OF OWNERSHIP
V:15. " The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. "
A. Our Creator uses to names to identify Himself.
     1. Lord is the Hebrew name Yehovah self existing and eternal
     2. God is the Hebrew name Elohiym which means supreme and is a
          plural noun.
         a. We derive the idea of the Holy Trinity,
         b. The Self Existing Supreme God decides our faith.
    3. There is a reason why God places us in the family we are in.
        1. He has a design for our lives.
        2. He predetermines what we are going to face before we are born.

B.  God gave man a home.
     1. With any home come responsibility.
     2. We are responsible for taking care that which God
          has given us.
C. To work the garden probably meant to maintain its beauty
    1. To "take care of it" probably meant to protect it from the roaming
         animals.
    2. Animals live by instinct. Their instinct is to find food where ever they
        roam.
    3. This would indicate that the Garden of Eden was a special place separated
from the areas where animals roamed.

THE ORIGINAL COMMANDMENT
V:16-17. " And the Lord God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any tree in
the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for
when you   eat of it you will surely die."
A. God established laws for  man to abide by.
    1. God gives us freedom to follow His will for our lives.
    2. He makes provisions for our existence.
B. God sets the standards for our lives with rules  to follow.
    1. Rules determine the quality of life.
    2. In this case the length of life.
C. In the Garden was also the Tree Of Life.
   1. Man had set before him eternity.
   2. He also had the choice of life or death.
D. Originally man only knew righteousness.
   1. Man was created in the Age Of Innocence.
   2. Obeying the house rules would have maintained that innocence.
   3. The tree of Knowledge Of Good and Evil set sin as an alterative
       life style.
      a. The Tree of knowledge and Of Good and Evil set a path
for man to follow his own thoughts and depend on himself.
      b. In the stage of innocence, man was dependant on God.
   4.  A man with laws can limit his activities to the law.
   5.  A man without laws is only limited by his imagination.
E. Whenever you find in the Word something you don't understand,
      you should ask questions.
   1. Since Adam knew only life, he should have asked what it means
       to die.
   2. Adam had life all around him, but no death.
   3. Believe it or not Satan who had fallen before God made the earth,
was listening to God's instructions to Adam.
   4. Satan uses our ignorance of the Word to destroy us.

GOD'S CONCERN FOR OUR WELL BEING
V:18 The Lord God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him
A. The Lord is concerned about our mental well being.
     1. We were made to be social creatures.
     2. Man was made in the image and likeness of the Holy Trinity.
     3. Man was made with ability to communicate.
B. No animal was given the ability to talk  or reason.
    1. Our mental health is aided by our conversation with
        other righteous persons.
   2. Verbal conversation puts our thoughts in the open to be
       discussed and analyzed.
   3. It is through our verbal conversations that we understand our thoughts
       in a different light.

MAN'S FIRST ASSIGNMENT
V:19-20. Now the Lord God had formed out of the ground all the beasts of the field and all the birds of the air. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name.
20 So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds of the air and all the beasts of the field. But for Adam no suitable helper was found.
A. Man was given a job to utilize his reasoning skills.
   1. Unlike God, I can only imaging that it took Adam quite some time to name
all the animals that were created.
   2. This would indicate that Adam had an extensive vocabulary.
B. Not only that, but  Adam had a huge memory to recall all the names
     he gave the animals.
  1. He would certainly have a lot  to teach his wife.
  2. God provided Adam with a sense of worth to impress his help mate.

THE FIRST SURGERY
V:21. " So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man's ribs and closed up the place with flesh.
A. Putting a person to sleep before a medical operation is the job of a
    an Anesthesiologist.
   1. Cutting a person open and operating on the body is the job of a surgeon.
   2. God has X Ray vision to know where to cut Adam to get the desired bone,
B. The God we serve is a doctor
   1. God is the one who causes the body to heal.
   2. God equipped the body with ability to heal itself
   3. The body has the ability to regrow tissue and skin.

THE ORIGIN OF WOMAN
22 Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.
A. You should notice that God did not form the female part of any animal
from the bone or frame of the male.
    1. God only did this for the man made in His image
    2. God intended that there would be harmony in the marriage.
    3. Since the woman is made from, she is dependant on him.

B. The rib of Adam contained all his DNA.
    1. God leaves us with the question of why He chose a rib bone.
        a. The rib bone is the only bone in the body that can reproduce
            itself.
        b. Bones carry bone morrow which reproduce red and white blood cells.
        c. According to Lev 17:10-14, life is in the blood.
        d. When Christ died on the cross, He was pierced in the side
and blood and water came out and His bride, the Church was born.
    2. If God had chosen a head bone, may be Eve would be over Adam
    3. If God had chosen a back bone, maybe Eve would have to walk behind Adam
    4. IF God had chosen a foot bone, maybe Eve would be under Adam.
    5. Maybe God chose a rib bone so Eve could walk side by side with Adam.
B. God does not tell us some things to keep us coming to Him for answers.
    1. God chooses a partner for each of us.
    2. Our job is to wait on God's choice.
    3. God places the right people into our lives to help us.

THE MARRIAGE, GOD'S DESIGN
V:23. " The man said, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called 'woman,' for she was taken out of man."
A.  Adam excepted God choice for his life.
     1. Adam made a commitment to God's choice.
     2. God's design for marriage is a man and a woman.
B. Here we see God's definition for woman; that which is derived from man.
    1. The DNA of women begin with Adam.
    2. The DNA of the entire world population began with Adam and Eve.
C. Adam excepted God's design for family.
    1. Adam did not see another man, he saw a woman.
    2. Adam recognized the difference between himself and what God
        presented him with.
    3. Adam was pleased with the woman he saw.
       a. New relationships begin with excitement.
       b. The question is how do you keep that first excitement through out
           your marriage.
       c. New relationships start fresh with no history of anger or frustration.
       d. It would be good if we could have a fresh start with each other
           every time we meet.
       e. We can, if we can forgive and forget.

UNITY IN THE MARRIAGE
V:24. " For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh."
A. God gives us two rules of marriage.
    1. A man and his wife should not live with their  parents.
    2. The man and his wife must become one.
B. You will notice that Adam and  Eve had no human parents.
    1. God was their parent.
    2. God gave Adam and his wife space to live by themselves
        under His careful eye.
    3. God allowed Adam and Eve to make their own choices without His
        interference.
C. There should be one voice in the marriage.
    1. The two should come to an agreement in all decision making.
    2. Decisions must be for the good of both the man and his wife.
    3. God made man first, gave His command to man first and set
man as the head of the marriage.   1 Cor 11:3
    3. The marriage is blessed or made happy by the Lord, who
         is the head of man.

THE STATE OF INNOCENCE
V:25. " The man and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame."
A. Adam and Eve were innocence.
    1. They were made with no thoughts of evil.
    2. Originally they did not judge or condemn each other.
B. They saw the difference between each other, but only
considered the beauty of their difference.
   1. It was love at first sight, for they needed each other.
   2. They needed each others companionship.
   3. They needed the comfort of each other.
   4. They needed the conversation between the two of them.
   5. They need to learn to appreciate their differences.
C. Originally there was nothing hidden between them
because they had the innocence of the Lord.
   1. They did not look at each other with a critical eye.
   2. They accepted each other as they were made.
   3. They had no human standard for what a man or woman
        should be.
   4. They were God's standard of perfection.
   5. They were in the state of think no evil, see no evil, do no
        evil and hear no evil.
   6. All Adam and Eve knew was God and His perfection.

Bible Study Lesson, "What Does Jesus See In You", John 5:1-14

WHAT DOES JESUS SEE IN YOU?

John 5:1-14

JESUS WILL COME SEE ABOUT YOU
1. After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
2 Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.
3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.
A. Jesus has you own His mind at all times.
    1. Jesus will make sure you are where you ought to be when He shows up.
    2. He will find you in the hospital
    3. He will find you among other people who are suffering.
B. No matter what you are going through, there is someone else going through
     same thing or worst.
   1. When you know where you can get a recovery, that is the place you
        ought to be.
   2. We have to learn to wait on the Lord.

JESUS KNOWS WHERE YOU ARE
4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.
5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.
A. Jesus knows how long you have been suffering.
    1. Jesus places people in your lives to help you when you are suffering.
    2. Family members, Friends or relatives took the man to the pool for
        38 years.
    3. The man was taken to the place where healing was taking place.
    4. You have to be willing to take a chance no matter how the odds are
         stacked against you.
B. Jesus saw the mans determination to be healed.
    1. The man didn't give up because he couldn't get to the water first
        after it was stirred up.
    2. Jesus saw the neglect by other who could help.
a, There were 37 people who had been healed who didn't come to help.
       b. There were church leaders with power of prayer who didn't help
       c. There were friends, relatives, and family members who got the
man to the pool but who didn't stick around until the waters were
            stirred up.
   3. Jesus understood the man disappointment for 38 years.

JESUS IS THE SOLUTION TO YOUR TROUBLES
6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.
9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.
A. The man didn't know Jesus, but He was in the place where Jesus came.
      1. The waters was stirred up by an angel directed by Jesus.
      2. The healing in the pool was the power of Jesus
 B. Even though the man didn't know Jesus, he knew the work of Jesus.
      1. He believed the healing process that he witness for 38 years.
      2. The healing process was Jesus, the living Word.
      2. He had faith in the Word even though could not identify the author of
          the Word.
C. The man did not know Jesus when He showed up.
     1. The man did not asked to be healed.
     2. Jesus asked man did he want to be healed..
     3. There is no indication that anyone was praying for the man's healing.
     4. Yet Jesus showed up in his life because he was where he was supposed to be
doing what he was supposed to be doing.
     5. Jesus is working  in your life when you don't know He is working.
 D. Jesus ask the questions so we can determine the strength of our faith.
     1. Jesus asked the man if he wanted to be healed.
     2. The man responded, I could get healed if I could get in the water first.
          a. The problem is, I don't have any help getting in the pool.
          b. Jesus is all the help you need.
    3. Jesus speaks with power and authority.
        a. There is power in the Words printed in the Bible.
E. Jesus responds to your needs according to the faith you have in Him.
    1. Once the man responded to Jesus in faith, Jesus healed him immediately.
    2. Jesus commanded the man to take up his cot and walk.
    3. The man knew an angel stirred up the waters, but he didn't know Jesus.
    4. Sometimes God will speak a blessing to you by someone you don't know.
    5. When we get our breakthrough, we have respond to Jesus in faith.
a, The man had not walked in 38 years!!
         b. The man's muscles and coordination  was not ready for the command of Jesus.
         c. But because the man responded in faith, he was able to walk.
    6. Just because you have not done something, don't mean Jesus want enable you
        to do it.

SATAN INTENDS TO DESTROY THE JOY OF YOUR BREAKTHROUGH
10 The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.
11 He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk.
12 Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk?
13 And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place.
A. Satan will show up to discourage you from doing what Jesus commanded you to do.
     1. You got to recognize Satan when he shows up.
     2. Sometimes Satan shows up looking like the church.
     3. You can expect him when you got your break through.
     4. You can expect Satan to talk against the Word of God.
     5. You can expect Satan to discourage you in your recovery.
     6. The world is not concerned about your well being.
B. Instead of  rejoicing with the man about his recovery, the city leaders
complained about him breaking their tradition.
    1. Your loyalty is to Jesus and not the world.
    2. There are some people who view their status as the reason to
show you how you don't measure up to their standards.
    3. Don't confuse tradition with God's commands.

HONOR JESUS WITH YOUR RECOVERY
14 Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.
A. It was the law for a leper that after a healing he was to got to the priest to be
      declared clean.  Lev 14:1-4
   1. The first place you need to go after your breakthrough is the Church.
   2. Give God the praise for your blessing.
A. When Jesus sees you,
      He sees your trouble
      He sees all your needs
He is the solution to your problem.
B. When Jesus sees you;
    1. He is there to help
    2. He provides instructions to stay healthy.
    3. He warns you of the penalty of taking His love for granted.

C. Jesus will use your trials and tribulations to draw you to Him.
John 5:15-16
The man went away and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well.
So, because Jesus was doing these things on the Sabbath, the Jews persecuted him.
1. Jesus died on the cross for your victory.

This Week's Sunday School Lesson, "God The Creator'" Lesson 2, Genesis 1:14-25, 9/9/2018

GOD THE CREATOR LESSON 2

Genesis 1:14-26

In verses 1-13, God formed the earth and set it on it's a axis and a distance from
the Sun. The earth was filled with plant life and fruit trees. Mountains, rivers and seas
were created in the first 3 days.

In this lesson, I want to focus on the process of the creation which heightens the
our understanding of the miracle of the creation.

DAY AND NIGHT ORDAINED
V:14. " And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:"
A. According to this verse the earth on it's axis, was placed in an orbit around
     the sun.
     1.  For there to be seasons, the earth orbits the sun once every 365 days.
     2. The earth is tilted on it's axis at a 23 degree angle. and makes a
complete rotation every 24 hours, which gives us night and day.
    3. As the earth rotates around the sun , certain parts are tilted closer or farther
away from the  sun which is the reason for the seasons.
B. We have four seasons, summer, fall, winter and spring.
     1. In the summer, the  rotation on its axis places the earth closer to
         the sun.
     2. In the summer, the earth is tiled toward the sun therefore more heat.
     3. In the winter,  the earth is tilted away from the sun, therefore less
         heat and colder temperatures.

THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH LITE UP
V:15 "And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so."
A. Paul said, I was called up the  third heaven
    1. The first heaven is what we view when we look toward the sky.

V:16-19. " And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.
19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day."
A. In this forth day God created the moon and set it in a an orbit around the earth.
    1. The moon has no light of it's own.
    2. The moon reflects 3 to 12 percent of the light from the sun
    3. God set the sun in its place and the earth in an orbit around it.
    4. The moon orbits the earth every 27 days.
The earth orbits  the sun every 365 days.
    5. We get a full moon when the earth is located between the sun and the moon.
    6. Therefore once every 27 day you will see a full moon.
B. God is so precise in His creation, that all the planets stay in their orbits and maintain
the same distance from the sun.
   1. The sun is a ball of hydrogen and helium
        a. The temperature  of the sun at it's core is 27 million degrees
        b. You can fit 1 million earths in the sun
   2. God also created the stars which are located a much greater distance from
       the earth than the sun.
   3. The distance from the earth to the sun is call an astronomical unit which
        is 97 million miles.
  4. The distance from the earth to the nearest star is 268,770 astronomical units.
  5. The stars maybe additional suns.
     a. They are so far away that you can't see them in the daylight.
     b. But at night, they are clearly seen as small lights in the sky.

LIFE IN THE WATERS AND THE SKY CREATED
V:20-23. " And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.
23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day."
A. God reemphasize the levels of heaven.
    1. The first heaven is the sky that is visible to us.
    2. The second heaven is space where the angels reside.
    3. Above the third heaven is God's throne.
B. God created animal in the waters in the sky first, on the fifth day.
    1. Animals were created male and female after their own kind.
    2. God made the animal dependant on themselves.
C. In every species of animals God create male and female so they could
     reproduce themselves.
   1. God ordained sex.
   2. God's order is that we reproduce ourselves.
   3. That cannot be accomplished in same sex relationships.
D. We must remember that the earth was first created void or empty.
1.Therefore in the sea, oceans and rivers, God created food
for all the creature that He created in the waters.
    2. He also created nutrients for food to grow and strive.

ALL THE ANIMALS OF THE EARTH CREATED
24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.
25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
A. The second thing God did on the fifth day was to create all the animals that
walked on the surface of the earth.
   1. God filled the earth with His abundance.
   2. Everything living on earth is a blessing from God.
B. All the animals of the earth are naturally obedient to God's commands.
    1. When you look outside, you can see the order that God created.
    2. Every living tree, plant and grass respond to the seasons God created
with the orbit of the earth around the sun.
    3. Every living organism and animal weather in the water, on land or in the
sky are obedient to God's command to be fruitful and multiply.
    4. Since our environment obeys God, the more should we.

If you can believe this creation story, you should not have any trouble
believing every word of the Bible.

The creation story points to God unlimited power and total authority over
the universe that we live in.

The creation is an intelligent design by an all knowing God.
