Bible Study Series: Who Are You, 1 Peter 2:9-17

 WHO ARE YOU?

1 PETER 2: 9-15

HOW DO YOU DESCRIBE YOURSELF?

If you had to describe yourself to someone, what would you say?

Without thinking, I would probably give you my resume. I would tell

You what I have done, what I have accomplished, and maybe my home

Town and where I went to school. I would tell you about my wife and

Children. And O yea, I would tell you about my church.

God has a better way of describing you without all your personal

Information. God is more concerned about your spiritual development.

HOW GOD DESCRIBES YOU

V:9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 10 Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

B.     You were chosen by God before the foundation of the earth  (Ephesian 1:4).

Through spiritual union with Christ,  believers reign over the whole

world and, at the same time, serve God as priests like Christ.
