HAVE A LITTLE TALK WITH JESUS
Exodus 19:1-9
PRIVATE TIME WITH JESUS
V:1. In the third month after
the Israelites left
A. The number three is a
divine number.
1. There are three in the Holy Trinity
2. On the third day, Jesus rose from the
dead.
3. Man has three major parts, body, soul
and the spirit.
4. Jesus had three disciples in His inner
circle; Peter, James
and John.
B. All of us need some
mountain time.
1. We need some me time with the Lord.
2. We need some time when it is just you
and the Lord.
3. We need a talk with God.
4. We need some time when we are not asking
for anything.
5. Some time to give Him praise.
6. We some time when we can tell Him what’s
going on in our lives.
7. We need some time when we ask for God
directions
8. We need to know that God knows what we
are going through
and wants to hear from us.
9. In the Garden of Eden, God talked with
Adam and Eve in the
cool of the day.
10. There are times when God will bring us
to the desert, for some
alone communication time.
GOD’S CALL TO PROCLAIM THE
WORD
V:3 Then Moses went up to
God, and the Lord called to him from the
mountain and said, "This is what you are to say to the house of Jacob and
what you are to tell the people of Israel: 4 'You yourselves have seen what I
did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles' wings and brought you to myself.
5 Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you
will be my treasured possession.
A. When we talk to God, we
need to be ready to listen.
1. Communication is a two way street.
2. We can’t just rattle off our needs to
God, then not listen to
what He has to say.
3.
One of the reasons God gives you mountain time is so He can.
give you directions.
4. God’s direction is not just about you,
but about others you.
influence.
5. God makes us responsible for the
welfare of others.
B. We must listen to God and
repeat His Word exactly as He gave it
to us.
1. It is not our responsibility to make
God’s Word fit our way of
thinking.
2. We must make His Word as plain as we can
under the guidance
of the Holy Spirit.
C. Some times we have to
remind ourselves and others of what God has
done to get us where we are.
1. We can take no credit for any success
we have in life.
2. To take credit for anything, is to
minimize God and elevate
ourselves.
3. The Israelites could say we walked out
of
say they open the door.
4.
The Israelites could say they survive the desert. But they couldn’t
say, they provided food and water.
5. We can do nothing without God’s help.
6. God reminds us of miracles He has
performed for us before
our eyes.
YOU ARE A TREASURED
POSSESSION
D. We have the opportunity to
be God’s TREASURED POSSESSION .
1. To be God’s TREASURED POSSESSION, we
must obey and keep
His commands.
2. God’s commands are a covenant of
righteousness with us.
3. This is a conditional covenant.
4. This covenant depends on our complete
obedience.
YOU ARE PRIEST FOR GOD
V:6 Although the whole earth
is mine,
6 you will be for me a kingdom of priests and
a holy nation.' These are the words you are to speak to the Israelites."
A. God don’t need you help
for anything. But He wants to showcase you
before the world.
1. God can do anything He wants to do, but
He gives you a
choice to be a treasure to Him
2. God has two objectives for us, His
Church.
a. We are to be a kingdom of priest.
We are the spiritual leaders of
the world.
The world listens because
God opens their ears.
B. God desire us to be a holy nation.
We are the role models of the
world.
The world don’t know Church unless
we stand up and
Be the Church
The world want know righteousness,
unless we are
Righteous before them
FAMILY COVENANT WITH GOD
V:7 So Moses went back and summoned
the elders of the people and set before them all the words the Lord had commanded him to speak. 8 The people all
responded together, "We will do everything the Lord has said." So
Moses brought their answer back to the Lord.
9 The Lord said to Moses,
"I am going to come to you in a dense cloud, so that the people will hear
me speaking with you and will always put their trust in you." Then Moses
told the Lord what the people had said.
A. Moses Had gained approval
with elders of the nation
When the elders were chosen as civil
leaders to govern.
themselves.
1. He called on the elders to relay God’s
Word first.
2. The elders unanimously agreed to follow
all Gods
commands.
3. It appears that the elders brought the
Word to the nation.
4. The entire nation agreed to follow God’s
commands.
5. United we stand, divided we fall.
6. In 2020, the
7. We will recover when all believers come
together in one voice
in the Lord.
B. Notice, It was not until
the nation agreed by voice to follow God’s
Covenant that He spoke to the people in a
cloud.
1. God gives a lesson in the importance of
family unity.
2. He called
3. God talked to the house of Jacob from a
dense cloud so the people could
not see Him, but could hear His voice
4. No man has seen God at anytime. To see God
without the grace
of Jesus would be eternal death.
5. As heads of households, it not only important
that we teach the
Word of God, but insist that the whole
family live by the Word.
