mimic symptoms of depression so it is important to rule out general medical
causes.
Depression can be hereditary.
Depression affects an estimated one
in 15 adults (6.7%) in any given year. Depression
can strike at any time, but on average, first appears during the late teens to
mid-20s. Women are more likely than men to experience depression. Some studies
show that one-third of women will experience a major depressive episode in
their lifetime.
Depression knows no boundaries. No
one can be excluded from episodes of depression.
It does not matter
how much money you make or what your level of success in life is.

Doctors will say that depression is a mental problem. I
believe that
in many cases that a depressed person is spiritually
deprived.
God made us perfect in His own image and His own likeness.
It was
when man came under the influence of Satan that he became
corrupt and
subject to all sorts of illness.
Depression is a normal human condition that Satan will use
to his advantage.
Satan came to steal, kill and destroy. Satan is doing his
job when he steals your
joy, peace and confidence in yourself.
A depressed mind is an unstable mind. It is Satan influenced
2 Timothy 1:7 states, "For God hath not given us the
spirit of fear; but of power, and of
love, and of a
sound mind.
When we are depressed, we are negatively focused on self.
God never told us that we would not face problems in our
lives. In fact He promised
that we would face problems. Job 14:1states
"Man born of
woman is of few days and full of trouble. "
How we deal with trouble determines our state of mind.
Trouble should drive us close to God, not away from God,
Other than medical causes, Depression results from a lack of
trust in God. It is a lack patience with God.
Expect Trouble, but Expect God to overcome your trouble
John 16:33
"These things I
have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have
tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world."
