IT IS GOOD TO PRAISE THE LORD
Psalms 52:9
Ps 52:9 I will give thee thanks for ever, because thou hast done it; and I will hope in thy name, for it is good, in the presence of thy saints.
PRAISE IS AN EXPRESSION OF YOUR GRATEFULNESS TO THE LORD
OUR PRAISE SHOULD NEVER CEASE
WHAT WE NEED HE HAS PROVIDED AND WILL CONTINUE, IT IS DONE
THE LOVE GOD HAS FOR US NEVER CEASE
OUR HOPE, THAT IS OUR ASSURANCE IS IN THE LORD
IT IS GOOD FOR US TO PRAISE THE LORD
OUR PRAISE OUGHT TO BE PRIVATE AS WELL AS PUBLIC
PRAISE, AN ATTITUDE OF GRADITUDE
Ps 149:6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two edged sword in their hand;
7 To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people;
Praise is a weapon against the devil and his demons
Praise summons the Lord to your situation
The moment trouble show up in your life, praise God with your mouth. Not your everyday praise, but your Glory to God praise. Put praise in High gear
Praise is a two edged sword, it brings down the enemy and it places our victory in the hands of the Lord
Psalm 23:3 But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.
God does not change position. He waits on us to call on Him
He is in the midst of your praise
You have to move out of the way and let God work
MAKE PRAISE A DAILY HABIT
Matt 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye. Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so on earth.
Praise recognizes God as your daddy, your creator, your soul provider Praise recognizes the sovereignty of God. He sits high and looks low. Praise recognizes the Holiness of God. There is nothing but good in your future Praise recognizes the power and authority of God. He is the owner the heavenly kingdom. Praise recognizes the will of God. What done in heaven is God’s will, what done on earth is God’s will Praise acknowledges our journey to heaven
WE ARE COMMANDED TO PRAISE THE LORD
Rom 15:11 And again, Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; And let all the peoples praise him
Rom 15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, in the power of the Holy Spirit.
God’s praise takes the focus off you and your circumstances and places it on the LORD who gives you joy peace and hope. God has the power to change your way of thinking. When you praise God it takes you from sadness to joy
Praising God changes your focus from turmoil to peace
Praise changes you focus from fear to hope
God has not given us the spirit of fear, but power, love and sound mind
Praise put you in the power of God
Praise put you in your right mind
GOD REMEMBERS YOUR PRAISE
1 Cor 11:2 Now I praise you that ye remember me in all things, and hold fast the traditions, even as I delivered them to you.
It is easy for people to forget you. God never sleeps or slumbers. He cannot forget anything. You are always before Him. Our job is to remember and follow His commands
We are instructed to hold fast to the Word of God. Obedience to the Word of God must become your tradition.
Notice, don’t change the Word to fit your way of thinking. Apply the Word according to the way God gave it to you.
A SACRIFICE OF PRAISE
Heb 13:15 Through him then let us offer up a sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of lips which make confession to his name
If praise is continuous in our mouth, we want have time to complain. Sacrifice is offering yourself up to God. It is recognizing that in God, you are in the best place.
For God to accept us as a sacrifice we must confess our sins, recognizing that in some way we have fallen short of His glory. Confession gives us a clean slate before God.
Your first fruit required by God is you. God wants all of you, not weekend visitation
KNOWLEDGE WITHOUT APPLICATION IS DEAD
The word is the knowledge of God. We have 66 books of Knowledge God prepared for us.That knowledge is useless unless applied in our daily lives. God did not give us the Word to just think about, but to act on.. It takes courage and strength from the Lord to act on His word.
When the enemy is before you, it is urgent to go to the Lord first. God should never be second in your thinking. Throughout the Bible God gives us examples to follow.
In 2 Chronicles chapter 20, King Jehoshaphat of Israel was no match against the armies of the Moabites and the Ammonites who came against them. They went to the Lord in prayer first. They set up a praise team to sing in the battle. They did not have to fight, just stand. 2 Chron 20: 17 Ye shall not need to fight in this (battle): set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of Jehovah with you, O Judah and Jerusalem; fear not, nor be dismayed: tomorrow go out against them: for Jehovah is with you. Chron 20:19 They stood up to praise Jehovah, the God of Israel, with an exceeding loud voice.
2 Chron 20:22 And when they began to sing and to praise, Jehovah set liers-in-wait against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, that were come against Judah; and they were smitten.
Praise gives us the victory over the enemy
YOUR PROBLEMS ARE NO MATCH FOR JESUS
The Lord is always on your side. There is no problem too big or too small for God. He is an all problem God. We see a problem, but really don’t know how big it is or will become.
When the nation of Israel came into the promised land, the first city they had to destroy was Jericho. It was a double walled fortified city. With a well trained and equipped army. Israel was a loose bunch of people coming out of 400 years of slavery. God organized them into a praise team to march around the city. On the seventh day and the seventh march of the day, they blew horns and shouted out to the Lord and the walls crumbled
Josh 6:20 So the people shouted, and (the priests) blew the trumpets; and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, that the people shouted with a great shout, and the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city. 21 And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, both young and old, and ox, and sheep, and ass, with the edge of the sword.
God has a plan for every battle you will face. It is up to you to seek and follow His guidance to victory
Neh 8:10 Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto him for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye grieved; for the joy of Jehovah is your strength.

The joy of the Lord is your strength You have a choice. You can chose the joy of the Lord of you chose misery. Joy is not based on circumstance, it come from the assurance that the Lord will take care of your situation
The choice is to believe the Word of God or believe the lies of Satan
CHOSE A NEW PRAISE SONG
Ps 98:1 Oh sing unto Jehovah a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: His right hand, and his holy arm, hath wrought salvation for him.
I love our church choirs. Each one of us is a choir to the Lord. We are commanded to sing new songs. I believe it is because God wants us to grow and expand our knowledge of His glory. New songs can enlighten us to other marvellous thing He has done
Songs can be a personal testimony to what God has done for you. Some songs of praise are personal and can identify what God has save you from. It is the right hand of God that has protected you and His holy arm that has kept you in fellowship with Him.
